The Pinelands Preservation Alliance (PPA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated solely to the preservation of the New Jersey Pinelands. Our members include concerned citizens, businesses and environmentalists who believe the actions and decisions of the Pinelands Commission and New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection should be monitored. Incorporated in 1989, PPA now has a staff of 10 people and is governed by a Board of Trustees. PPA’s primary objectives are three-fold. First, we monitor issues coming before the Pinelands Commission and monitor the state’s lawmaking bodies when legislation affecting the Pinelands is introduced. Second, we build grassroots support to insure that a high quality of life is maintained for all. Third, PPA staff and volunteers travel throughout New Jersey and neighboring states providing education on the Pineland through presentations, field trips, fairs and festivals, and PPA’s educational videos.
