Trout Unlimited is a national conservation organization with nine chapters and over 3,000 members across New Jersey. The New Jersey State Council is dedicated to the conservation, restoration and protection of coldwater fisheries and their habitats in New Jersey. Trout Unlimited is involved in trout stream conservation projects across the state, ranging from bank stabilization and thermal studies, to stream cleanups. While the Council focuses on statewide projects, all chapters are involved in local community affairs and with watershed organizations including Friends of the Rockaway, The Highlands Coalition and the Pequannock River Coalition. In addition to receiving the national magazine TROUT, each chapter of Trout Unlimited holds monthly meetings and produces a newsletter for that region.
