The Byram Township Environmental Commission provides guidance to town agencies and the public regarding environmental issues. The Commission organizes environmental projects in coordination with school and other local citizen groups and organizations. The Commission has many ongoing projects. One involves the study and development of a greenway and trail system along Lubbers Run,Byram’s longest river, as well as the development of a town-wide trail system with regional connections. The Commission is also involved in a septic management program to protect the numerous lakes in the Township.
