The purpose of the Green Township Environmental/Heritage Commission is to provide research, public education and outreach regarding resource preservation, including groundwater as a priority. The Commission is involved in the publication of educational brochures and reports which explain the many causes, effects and prevention of non-point source pollution. The Commission also offers demonstrations and slide presentations on groundwater flow models, and provides watershed education to local schools, and the community. By participating in these programs, Green Township hopes to create a sense of awareness, especially in the young people. The Commission holds public meetings on the 4th Tuesday of the month at the Green Township Municipal Building.
