The North Jersey Resource Conservation and Development (RD&C) Council is an independent, nonprofit organization whose purpose is to assist local people in bringing about orderly use and development of the region's human and natural resources. The RC&D Council was created by the Board of Supervisors of the Soil Conservation District and the Board of Chosen Freeholders. RC&D works closely with various federal, state and local agencies and organizations to conserve the area's natural resources and improve the quality of life in the region. The Council is involved in community education and lends support to other watershed organizations involved in community cleanups and water monitoring. Other sources includes workshops and seminars on topics such as Limestone Information and Remediation, Nutrient Management / Integrated Crop Management, and Grant Writing.
