The goal of the Bergen County Watershed Management Committee is to establish a cooperative effort between private citizens, business and government to identify, assess and address water quality problems and to coordinate and implement an education program that informs the public of the impacts of non-point source pollution. The Committee is coordinating a storm drain marking program which displays a fish and the message “No Dumping - Drains to Stream.” Through this program, the Committee is reaching out to communities and schools, and hopes to sponsor an “Adopt-A-Stream” program soon. The members of the Committee are also actively involved in the Bergen County Environmental Council.
