The Great Swamp Watershed Association (GSWA) encourages protection of the ecological, historical and cultural integrity of the Great Swamp and its watershed. The Association promotes the conservation and restoration of the watershed’s natural resources and encourages land use that is compatible with these goals. The Association conducts member events and tours, as well as presentations, slide shows and seminars for garden clubs, schools and other organizations. In addition to this, GSWA provides watershed information to teachers, students and other interested citizens. Included in the Association’s upcoming projects is a watershed model which will be used to demonstrate how a watershed works. GSWA publishes a quarterly newsletter, Across the Watershed, and has recently published two books, Saving Space: The Great Swamp Watershed Greenway and Open Space Plan and The Benefits of Open Space. These publications, along with additional watershed information, are available through the Great Swamp Watershed Association office.
