The Watershed Project, sponsored by Remote Sensing Technology (RST)2, is a four week teacher training science education seminar that prepares teachers to use and interpret satellite images of their watershed using Geographic Information Systems (GIS). In addition, students collect water quality data in their watershed and share the data with other schools, researchers, and members of the environmental community. This project allows students to make predictions about their watershed, and develop their problem solving skills. The Watershed Project trains 40 - 60 teachers annually. It is funded in part by the National Science Foundation.
