The goal of the Woodbridge River Watch is to maintain the waterways of Woodbridge Township through cleanups and public education. The River Watch is actively involved with the local schools through the River Rangers Program, which stresses the importance of clean water. Last year alone, members of the River Watch spoke to over 1,000 students about clean water and maintaining local waterways. This year, the Woodbridge River Watch began a new program entitled “Keepers of the Stream.” This program will form a network among families, scouts, civic organizations and industry in an effort to ensure stream protection. Through this program, local citizens and volunteer groups will pledge a few hours annually to participate in activities such as stream cleanups and water quality monitoring.
