The
Magic of Water
Water
is the magic of life. All living things need clean water to
survive, yet we often take water for granted. We in New Jersey
live in a place where water is plentiful: rivers and streams
surround us, the Atlantic Ocean is our main tourist attraction,
and we receive plenty of rain.
We
forget how lucky we are to have running water -- water that
flows freely when we turn on the tap. People build swimming
pools, take showers once or twice a day, water their lawns and
wash their cars. Even though water is all around us, only 2%
of all water on earth is clean and fresh -- a tiny fraction
of the planet's total water supply.
More
than oil, or money, the availability of water is the critical
to quality of our life.
Try to imagine a day without water. Water is one
our most precious resources -- let’s handle it with care.
