• Use non-toxic substitutes wherever possible.

• Less is best -- use smaller amounts. It will make a big difference!  

• Recycle household chemicals to hazardous waste collection centers; do not pour them down the drain.

• Never pour unwanted chemicals on the ground since it will run off into your groundwater or a local stream or pond.

• Use low-phosphate or phosphate-free detergents.

• Use pesticides sparingly if at all!
